Falcon Breeding Center Licenses Now Digital in Saudi

A workshop held in Riyadh has laid out how those wishing to establish falcon breeding centers in Saudi Arabia can obtain a license fully online, with applications reviewed within five working days of submission. The session was presented during the International Falcon Breeding Farms Auction 2026.

All license requests are processed through the digital "Fatri" (Fitri) platform operated by the National Center for Wildlife, and used by the National Center for Falcons for its licensing sessions. Applicants begin by submitting an electronic request, after which a specialist reviews the data and documents, requests any missing requirements, and raises the file to the competent department for technical evaluation. A final decision is then issued electronically, the prescribed fee is paid through the platform's e-payment channels, and the license is made available online.

What applicants need to prepare

The workshop detailed the required documents: a completed license application form, a project plan describing objectives, capacity and operational model, and environmental impact assessment requirements based on the project's classification under the Environmental Law. Applicants must also provide a site map and site information, proof of identity for individuals or a commercial registration for entities, proof of land ownership, and a lease agreement if the site is rented.

The Fatri platform groups a range of wildlife-related services beyond breeding centers. These include licenses for the import, export, re-export and transport of wildlife and their products; falcon passports and certificates of ownership; and permits for display, selling living wildlife, selling wildlife products, shelter centers, scientific centers, and plant herbaria.

The platform is integrated with other government digital systems to speed up procedures and cut the time and effort required from users. For falcon enthusiasts and investors across the Kingdom, the streamlined process offers a clearer, faster route to setting up regulated breeding operations.
