Falcons Auction 2026 Set for Oct 1–Nov 30 in Malham

The National Center for Falcons has confirmed that its 2026 auction will run from 1 October to 30 November 2026 at the center's headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh. Organized by the National Center for Falcons and the Saudi Falcons Club, the event will receive and sell falcons throughout the two-month window, in step with the local migration and trapping season.

The auction is dedicated exclusively to locally trapped juvenile migratory peregrine falcons (Shaheen Bahri) captured inside Saudi Arabia during the annual season. Adult peregrines (Qarnas) and saker falcons (Hur) are excluded from this sale. Proceedings will be broadcast on television and streamed live across the center's and club's social media channels.

Prices at the 2026 auction typically range from hundreds of thousands to more than one million Saudi riyals with value set by bidding. In the related International Falcon Breeders Auction held earlier in Malham, a Canadian-bred gyrfalcon chick reached SAR 1.3 million — the highest price of that 2026 breeders' event.

The center runs a dedicated platform to document sales and organize the market for locally captured falcons, providing an official marketplace and record of transactions. As of the latest information, no fixed registration fees, bidder deposits, or participation charges have been publicly announced for the auction.

A packed falconry season in Malham

The auction sits within a wider 2026 season in Malham that also includes the Saudi International Falcons and Hunting Exhibition (1–10 October) at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center, the Melwah falcon race (4–9 October), the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival (17–30 November), and the National Center for Falcons Cup (21–28 December). Separately, the International Falcon Breeders Auction 2026 runs 5–25 August at Auction Makar in Malham. For falconry enthusiasts and residents curious about one of the Kingdom's most enduring traditions, it is a season full of events to follow.
