Football Tryouts Open in 16 Saudi Cities in 2026

Young football players across Saudi Arabia have a new opportunity to be discovered. Football tryouts are scheduled from September to December 2026 and will be held in 16 cities through Mahd Sports Academy, targeting boys born between 2013 and 2017.

The tryouts will take place in Abha, Makkah, Tabuk, Jazan, Hail, Qassim, Hafr Al-Batin, Al-Baha, Madinah, Arar, Yanbu, Najran, Sakaka, Wadi Al-Dawasir, Taif, and Al-Kharj. They form part of Mahd's Talent Identification pathway for ages 8–12 within its structured football development system.

Registration is done online directly through Mahd Sports Academy via its dedicated tryouts page at mahd.gov.sa/try-outs. There is no requirement to use government e-services platforms for these tryouts. Full event details — including city, facility, date, time, age group, gender, registration period, and team size — are listed on the academy's try-outs and events portal and updated there.

Participation is open to Saudi citizens, children of Saudi mothers, and Saudi-born residents, in line with Mahd's general admission policy for football programs. Based on current public information for the September–December 2026 football tryouts, no participation fees are listed and no payment is required for registration.

Because these are in-person sports events rather than official government services, they carry no visa or permit validity periods; instead, families should follow the event dates and registration windows shown on the tryouts page. As of early September 2026, there are no announced changes to the registration channels or fees beyond the stated cities, age groups, and online registration link.
