Al Ahli striker Ivan Toney has taken control of the 2025-26 Saudi Golden Boot race, reaching 30 goals in 29 Roshn Saudi League matches after a run of hat-tricks at his home stadium in Jeddah.
Toney's scoring surge included a treble against Al Khaleej at Alinma Stadium, where Al Ahli won 4-1 and climbed to second place in the standings. He struck three times again in a 4-0 victory over Al Ettifaq — his second hat-trick in three games — briefly closing the gap on league leaders Al Hilal to two points. In another Jeddah fixture, he scored twice from the penalty spot and once from open play in a 3-1 win over Al Fateh, moving him to the top of the scoring charts.
Across all competitions this season, Toney has reached 40 goals, including his 30 league strikes — 23 from open play, 16 penalties and one free-kick — along with 10 assists for Al Ahli.
The English forward finished second in the previous 2024-25 league scoring charts, just one goal behind Cristiano Ronaldo, who took that season's Golden Boot. This campaign, Toney has led Ronaldo in goals and been widely seen as the frontrunner for the award.
Golden Boot Decided on Final Day
Ultimately, the 2025-26 Saudi Pro League Golden Boot was won by Julián Quiñones of Al Qadsiah, who scored a final-day hat-trick against Al Ittihad to finish ahead of both Toney and Ronaldo in total league goals.
For fans in Jeddah and beyond, the tight race added extra drama to the league season. Home league fixtures in major Saudi stadiums typically feature evening kick-offs around 8:00–9:00 PM, with regular seats generally priced between SAR 30 and SAR 80 and premium sections from SAR 150 to SAR 300, depending on the match.
