Jazan Municipality has launched a set of community and field initiatives to prepare local facilities and services ahead of the new academic year 1448–1449 AH (2026–2027), with a focus on school environments and the surrounding infrastructure.
As part of the drive, more than 50,000 gifts are being distributed to male and female students at the start of term, while 510 "Welcome back to school" boards are being installed across Jazan city. A media and awareness plan includes more than 100 posts on the accounts of the municipality and its affiliated municipalities, promoting safety, health, and readiness messages around schools.
On the ground, traffic and road safety measures are being carried out around 257 schools, including road safety requirements and preparation of surrounding roads to improve traffic flow and student safety. Intensive cleaning and public health operations cover 1,360 schools, with expanded cleaning and environmental improvement in the areas surrounding school buildings.
A wide readiness effort
The wider readiness drive covers 2,618 schools receiving about 364,000 students, supported by more than 30,000 teachers. Around 18,000 children have been accepted into kindergartens, with an early childhood enrollment rate of 57%. Twelve educational complexes are prepared to provide continuing education programs. The General Directorate of Education in Jazan is supervising field preparations covering maintenance, operations, cleaning, and safety.
Morning schools begin the assembly at 06:45 and the first class at 07:00, while evening-period schools start their first class at 12:45. The municipal initiatives focus on school surroundings, traffic, cleanliness, and public health, and do not introduce new fees for students or parents. For inquiries, the municipality's official channels remain the email info@jazan.sa and the phone number 017-3290000.
