Jeddah Airport Serves 28.55M Passengers in 7 Months

King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah served about 28.55 million passengers and handled around 169,900 flights during the first seven months of 2026, from January to the end of July, reflecting strong travel demand through one of the Kingdom's busiest gateways.

Over the same period, the airport processed about 33.6 million bags. The single busiest day was 17 January 2026, when the airport served roughly 195,300 passengers across around 1,089 flights.

The year opened at pace. In January 2026 alone, the airport handled about 5.45 million passengers, a 7.3% increase over January 2025, while flight movements rose about 11% to around 29,200 flights.

Umrah and Hajj seasons drive traffic

During the 1447 AH Umrah season within this period, the airport welcomed about 6.16 million passengers on around 36,400 flights and handled roughly 7.2 million bags. During the 1447 AH Hajj season, more than 1.67 million pilgrims travelled through the airport on over 9,600 flights, with around 2.76 million bags processed.

Ground transport also carried a large share of pilgrims. Buses moved about 821,700 pilgrims on around 22,855 trips during the Hajj season, while the Haramain High-Speed Railway carried about 48,200 pilgrims on around 207 trips to and from the airport.

The figures underline Jeddah's role as a key entry point for residents, travellers and pilgrims alike, and point to continued growth in air travel serving the community across the Kingdom.
