The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has spotlighted its Monitoring and Control Center, a command hub that oversees and manages operational activities for the pilgrim journey within an integrated framework designed to raise service quality and efficiency during the Hajj season.
The Center brings together data covering the pilgrim's journey from the country of arrival through accommodation in Makkah and Madinah, giving operators end-to-end visibility. Through smart systems and real-time dashboards, it monitors field performance, tracks pilgrim flows, and ensures agreed services are delivered as planned.
Aviation data is integrated into the system to reduce airport waiting times to under 40 minutes for arriving pilgrims, while buses are tracked in real time. The Center connects with more than 400 entities to speed up response and support a smooth experience, monitors over 95 performance indicators, and has handled more than 2,000 direct intervention cases to resolve operational challenges.
Working in coordination with 7 government agencies and 25 Hajj companies, the Center delivers the data needed for timely decisions. It also provides over 80 interactive dashboards used by more than 200 entities during peak periods such as Ramadan and Hajj, backed by daily regulatory inspection tours to check compliance and address shortcomings.
Round-the-clock pilgrim support
Linked to this ecosystem is the Pilgrim Care Center, reachable via the unified number 1966, operating 24/7 in 11 languages. During the 1447 AH Hajj season it processed more than 330,000 calls with an average response time of 10 seconds, zero missed calls, and around 93% satisfaction. From the start of the Umrah season on 15 Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH to mid-August 2026, it handled over 134,000 calls with an average response time of 3 seconds and about 91% satisfaction.
For pilgrims and Umrah performers, the improvements promise shorter waits, faster help, and a more seamless journey from arrival to departure.
