Jeddah Islamic Port has strengthened its position as a regional shipping hub in 2026 with new container-line additions and a fresh package of logistics incentives aimed at cargo owners and shipping companies.
The port received new Maersk services and an added Emirates Shipping Line service during 2026, widening direct connectivity with Asia, the Middle East, East Africa, the Indian Subcontinent and the United States. In a related move, Maersk expanded its logistics center at the port by 60,000 square meters through a SAR 40 million investment.
A 60-day logistics incentive package began on 19 July 2026. Under the package, storage-fee exemptions run for 15 days for transit containers, 5 days for general transit cargo, and 5 days for Ro-Ro cargo and vehicles. A separate 2026 circular set a 15-day maximum for transit containers to be removed from the port after discharge, unless otherwise approved.
Published fees and charges
The port authority's published service fees include SAR 1,000 for a ship arrival fee, SAR 1,000 for a ship departure fee, and SAR 100 Cargo-handling charges include SAR 20
For containers, customs inspection is SAR 460 for loaded containers of 20 feet or less and SAR 550 for containers longer than 20 feet. Other listed tariffs include SAR 100 SAR 600 SAR 82 to clean a 20-foot container, SAR 117 for a 40-foot container, and SAR 132
For residents and businesses in Jeddah, the expanded services and clear tariff schedule mean smoother trade flows, more direct shipping routes, and greater certainty on costs — reinforcing the port's role as a gateway for goods across the region.
