The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced and signed multiple new investment commitments in 2026 aimed at expanding port infrastructure and boosting logistics capacity across Jeddah Islamic Port, the Al-Khumra Logistics Zone, King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, and Jubail Commercial Port.
New logistics-center agreements in Jeddah and Al-Khumra are valued at about SAR 1 billion and cover seven logistics centers for storage, consolidation, and re-export activities. With these deals, the number of port-based logistics centers across Saudi ports rises to 34 — including 17 at Jeddah Islamic Port — with cumulative investments exceeding SAR 14 billion.
Among the individual projects, JD Logistics facilities carry combined investments of about SAR 700 million, including a roughly 93,000 m² port-side facility with refrigerated and dry warehouses, plus a second digital logistics center at Al-Khumra. Additional Maersk storage and re-export facilities of about 50,000 m², along with a dedicated re-export zone worth around SAR 40 million, will add capacity for hazardous materials and petrochemical cargo.
New truck corridor and gate expansion
Mawani and its partners are developing an SAR 689 million truck corridor stretching about 17 km with two lanes each direction and 12 bridges, linking Jeddah Islamic Port directly to Al-Khumra and lifting port handling capacity by around 10%. The wider program includes a one-million-m² truck marshalling zone able to handle more than 40,000 trucks expansion of port gates from 10 to 18, and about SAR 641 million for new cranes, terminal equipment, and roughly 200,000 m² of added container yards.
In the Eastern Province, Mawani announced five projects with private-sector partners in 2026 worth over SAR 2.3 billion at King Abdulaziz Port and Jubail Commercial Port. Plans include extending berth length to about 1,400 meters, deepening draft to 18 meters, and increasing ship-to-shore and gantry cranes from 8 to 39 automated units.
For residents and businesses, faster port handling and expanded storage are expected to improve supply-chain efficiency and support the flow of goods across the Kingdom.
