Jeddah Opens Free Family Waterfront Park on Corniche

Families in Jeddah have a new free destination on the Red Sea coast, as the city celebrates the opening of a large waterfront family park along the corniche, complete with dedicated spaces for walking, cycling, and children's activities.

Located on Al-Kurnaysh Road in Jeddah, the waterfront stretches for more than four kilometres and features a main 650-metre walkway, several promenades, informal cycling areas suitable for bicycles and scooters, and children's play areas totalling roughly 8,000 square metres. Visitors will also find three public beaches with sand and swimming areas, green spaces, plazas, sculptures, fountains, dancing fountains, and plenty of seating.

Access to the promenade and park areas is completely free, with no tickets or bookings required for general walking, cycling, and basic play zones. The park effectively operates around the clock, seven days a week, while on-site parking can accommodate around 3,000 cars, typically free for general visitors.

Food and dining options

A range of family-friendly venues line the waterfront. Casual cafés serve hot drinks for around 12–20 SAR, cold specialty drinks for 18–28 SAR, and desserts for 15–30 SAR, generally open from 08:00 to 01:00. Family grill and seafood restaurants offer mains between 55 and 110 SAR and kids' meals from 25 to 40 SAR, usually operating from 13:00 to 01:00. Shawarma and burger outlets along the waterfront streets sell sandwiches for 10–22 SAR. A family of four can typically expect to spend 200–350 SAR at a mid-range restaurant including drinks.

The new waterfront gives residents and visitors an accessible, cost-free space for daily exercise, family outings, and community gatherings—strengthening Jeddah's growing network of public spaces along its historic coast.
