Mahd Academy Opens Free Football Tryouts in 16 Cities

Mahd Sports Academy has announced nationwide football tryouts running from September to December 2026 across 16 Saudi cities, in a drive to scout and develop young talent from every region of the Kingdom. The trials are open to boys born between 2013 and 2017.

The 16 host cities are Abha, Makkah, Tabuk, Jazan, Hail, Al-Qassim, Hafr Al-Batin, Al-Baha, Madinah, Arar, Yanbu, Najran, Sakaka, Wadi Al-Dawasir, Taif, and Al-Kharj. Football is currently limited to boys, while the academy's other sports programs accept both boys and girls.

Participation is entirely free of charge. The academy and its Sports Talents School are national initiatives with no registration or participation fees in Saudi Riyal for either the trials or the follow-on training programs. Admission is available to Saudi citizens, children of Saudi mothers, and Saudi-born residents.

How to Register

Players register online through the official Mahd tryouts portal at the /try-outs path on the academy's website, filling an electronic form with the player's name, date of birth, city and contact details, then selecting the appropriate city and session. An additional digital route is available through Mahd's AI Scout application, linked from the website, to submit performance data and register interest.

After registration and nomination, candidates receive an invitation with a scheduled trial date and venue. The journey then moves through a one-day first performance trial, a one-week extended second trial, and an initial acceptance stage lasting from one week up to one month of preliminary evaluation.

For families across Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond, the programme offers a structured, cost-free pathway for children to be scouted and trained by a national academy — an opportunity that widens access to professional-standard youth development across the Kingdom.
