Visitors to the Prophet's Mosque can now plan their trips in advance through a set of new digital services launched on the website of the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque. The tools allow worshippers to access services both before and during their visit.
The service set includes an interactive map, live crowd status for the route to offer salutations, prayer area occupancy updates, a visits portal, Manarat Al-Haramain, a worshipper's guide, and a children's hospitality center. Together, these features aim to help visitors reduce waiting times and move through the mosque more smoothly.
Smart map and multilingual screens
A newer smart interactive map system was also introduced for the Prophet's Mosque in 2026. It offers real-time route updates, location-based guidance, more than 950 points of interest, 13 service categories, over 650 QR codes, and more than 100,000 dynamic routes.
Another 2026 addition is a set of interactive guidance screens that provide QR-code access to religious materials in 23 languages, making information more accessible to visitors from around the world. The platform and related guidance services are operated through the General Authority and the Presidency of Religious Affairs.
For residents and expats who travel to Madinah, especially during peak periods, the new tools offer a practical way to organize a visit ahead of time, check crowd levels, and find services in a preferred language. No fees were stated for these digital services.
