The sixth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah has been postponed to the fourth quarter of 2027. The event was originally scheduled to run from 3 to 12 December 2026, meaning the 2026 edition will no longer take place.
Organizers linked the decision to a review of the festival's timing and the logistical requirements involved in staging an international event of this scale. Exact dates for the 2027 edition have not yet been announced.
Because the 2026 edition is off the calendar, there are currently no ticket prices, registration fees, venue schedules, or visitor procedures available. Audiences and industry professionals will need to wait for a fresh announcement before making plans.
Year-round programs continue
While the main festival has been pushed back, the Red Sea Film Foundation's year-round activities are continuing as usual. This includes the Red Sea Fund, which supports film financing, and Red Sea Labs, the development programs aimed at emerging talent across the region.
For residents and expats in Jeddah and across the Kingdom, the festival has become one of the highlights of the cultural calendar in recent years, drawing local and international filmmakers alike. The postponement gives audiences a longer wait, but organizers say the extra time is intended to strengthen the overall event. Saudi Living will share updated dates and details once they are officially confirmed.
