A new contemporary art exhibition titled “Red Wind, Coral Worlds” is now running at Hayy Jameel in Jeddah, offering visitors a fresh way to think about the Red Sea. The exhibition opened on 20 May 2026 and continues until 26 October 2026 at the venue in the Al Muhammadiyah district, on Arwa bint Abdulmutalib Street.
Curated by Huda Tayob and Miriam Hillawi Abraham, who were selected through the Art Jameel / Red Sea Curatorial Open Call, the exhibition reimagines the Red Sea as an expanded, interconnected oceanic world. It explores the historical, cultural and ecological ties that link the region, touching on themes of movement, migration, trade, pilgrimage, displacement, memory and belonging.
Visitors will find a mix of contemporary artworks, historical objects and archival materials, with contributions from both regional and international artists. Among the featured pieces is Hoda Afshar’s video work “Speak the Wind.” The exhibition is presented as a museum-style showcase within the Hayy Arts first-floor gallery, alongside a wider program of talks, performances, films, workshops and activities designed for children and youth.
Known as Jeddah’s home for the arts, Hayy Jameel is a cultural complex that brings together Hayy Arts and other creative spaces. The exhibition can be visited during the complex’s standard opening hours as an ordinary cultural outing.
For families, students and art enthusiasts across Jeddah, the show offers an accessible chance to engage with the Red Sea’s shared heritage through a contemporary lens. Exact ticket prices and any reservation details for the exhibition have not been specified, so visitors are encouraged to check current arrangements directly with the venue before planning their trip.
