Riyadh is accelerating a wide-ranging expansion of its sports facilities as the capital prepares to host future international sporting events, with major projects now moving from planning into delivery.
At the heart of the drive is Sports Boulevard, a corridor stretching more than 135 kilometres from Wadi Hanifah to Wadi Al-Sulai. The project includes over 50 sports facilities alongside walking and cycling paths, horse trails, green spaces, and cultural and entertainment areas. Its first phase opened in 2026, with the remaining sections to follow in stages.
A comprehensive modernization of King Fahd Sports City is also underway in readiness for upcoming events. In parallel, the city is adding or upgrading a cluster of stadiums, including King Salman International Stadium, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium in Qiddiya City, New Murabba Stadium, Roshn Stadium, Prince Faisal bin Fahd Sports City Stadium, South Riyadh Stadium, and an expanded Saud University Stadium.
King Salman Park is set to complement the offering with a planned sports complex, a golf course, a virtual-reality court, a skydiving centre, an equestrian centre, running and cycling routes, an aquapark, and amusement facilities.
Six Kings Slam 2026
Among the marquee events on the calendar is the Six Kings Slam 2026, scheduled at ANB Arena in Riyadh on 21, 22, and 24 October 2026. General admission for the opening quarter-final sessions starts from SAR 150, while final-night sessions begin from SAR 200. Tickets are available through the official WeBook platform and the official Riyadh Season portal.
For residents and visitors, the expansion means more accessible spaces for daily exercise and recreation, plus a growing line-up of world-class events on their doorstep. No general admission fees or operating hours have been confirmed for Sports Boulevard, King Salman Park, King Fahd Sports City, or the planned stadiums.
