Riyadh Hosts Free Community Sports Events in September

Residents of the Riyadh region can take part in a month-long lineup of free community sports and awareness activities running across 11 locations in central Riyadh throughout September 2026. The initiative is organized under the Riyadh Region Municipality and welcomes participants of different ages.

Six community sports tournaments form the core of the program, covering football through neighborhood and volunteer leagues, basketball, volleyball, baloot, and dominoes. Alongside the competitions, more than 15 entertainment, educational, and health awareness events are being held, bringing together 40 public, private, and non-profit entities.

The aim is to encourage physical activity and strengthen local community engagement across the region. Participation is promoted as free community access, and no ticket fees in Saudi Riyal have been announced for the municipal tournaments or the accompanying awareness and entertainment activities.

there are no requirements to register through Absher, Muqeem, Qiwa, Najiz, Nafath, or Tawakkalna for these specific municipal community events. Registration and details are managed through the Riyadh municipality's own communication channels and local event announcements.

The program is limited to September 2026, with no extended validity period or multi-month pass reported. Exact prices, detailed registration steps, and named venues or per-event timings for each of the 15-plus accompanying activities have not been specified beyond their being held at the 11 central Riyadh locations. Residents are encouraged to follow the municipality's local announcements for the latest schedules.
