Riyadh Launches Six Community Sports Tournaments

Riyadh Region Municipality has launched six community sports tournaments across 11 locations in central Riyadh, in a move aimed at encouraging public participation in physical activity. The tournaments run throughout September 2026.

The program spans a mix of team sports and popular traditional games, giving residents of the capital a range of ways to take part. The six tournaments cover neighborhood football, volunteer football, basketball, volleyball, baloot, and dominoes.

By spreading the competitions across 11 sites in central Riyadh, the initiative seeks to bring the events closer to communities and make it easier for people of different interests and ages to join in. The blend of active sports and social games such as baloot and dominoes reflects an effort to engage a wide cross-section of the community.

For residents and expats in the capital, the initiative offers an accessible way to stay active, meet neighbors, and take part in shared community activities during the month. The tournaments are scheduled to continue across the various locations throughout September 2026.
