Riyadh Schools Move to Remote Learning Oct 11-15

Schools across Riyadh have moved from in-person classes to remote learning from Sunday, October 11, through Thursday, October 15, 2026, covering a full school week. The arrangement applies to students, teachers, and administrative staff.

Lessons during this period are being delivered through Madrasati and other platforms approved by the Ministry of Education. Schools are sharing timetables and access instructions directly with parents and students, so families are advised to follow the updates sent by their child's school.

No fees apply for using Madrasati or the approved remote-learning platforms. The measure is set for one school week, though some schools have indicated that remote learning could continue until further notice.

What families should check

Because arrangements can differ from one school to another, parents and students should check their own school for any timetable changes, postponed assessments, or extensions beyond October 15. Keeping an eye on official school communications is the best way to stay informed.

The shift matters for the wider Riyadh community because it affects daily routines for thousands of households, from school-day schedules to commuting and childcare plans. Ensuring students have a stable internet connection and access to their accounts ahead of each school day will help lessons run smoothly throughout the week.
