Riyadh will host the preparatory Water Regulation Forum on 1 November 2026, bringing together regulators and water-sector experts from around the world. The event will be held at the King Faisal Convention Center at the InterContinental Riyadh, alongside the IDRA World Congress.
The forum is organized by the Saudi Water Authority, with the International Desalination and Reuse Association serving as strategic partner. It will gather 28 speakers from 24 countries, along with four international organizations and 25 government entities.
Discussions will focus on water-sector regulation, compliance, performance monitoring, governance, financing, and public-private cooperation. During the event, the official identity of the Water Regulation Exchange will be launched, setting the stage for the first full annual edition planned for Riyadh in 2027.
Why it matters
Water security is a growing priority across the Kingdom, where reliable supply and sustainable management directly affect daily life for residents and businesses. Bringing global regulators and institutions to Riyadh strengthens the city's role as a regional hub for policy dialogue and knowledge-sharing in the water sector.
For the community, the event signals continued investment in the infrastructure and governance that underpin water services nationwide, in line with long-term national development goals. No attendance fee, registration cost, or ticket price has been announced for the event at this stage.
