Saudi adult physical-activity rate reaches 59.1%

New health data shows that 59.1 percent of adults in Saudi Arabia aged 18 and above achieved at least 150 minutes of physical activity offering a snapshot of fitness habits across the Kingdom.

The figures reveal a notable gap between the sexes, with men recording a rate of 66.5 percent compared with 43.1 percent among women. Age also plays a major role in activity levels across the population.

Younger adults were the most active, with those aged 18 to 29 reaching the highest rate at 71.2 percent. The rate stood at 62.6 percent for ages 30 to 39, 56.1 percent for ages 40 to 49, and 53.9 percent for ages 50 to 59.

Activity levels declined sharply among older groups, falling to 27 percent for ages 60 to 69, 18 percent for ages 70 to 79, and just 3.5 percent for those aged 80 and above.

Why it matters

The data, drawn from self-reported National Health Survey responses and 2025 population estimates, points to encouraging habits among younger residents while highlighting the challenge of keeping older adults active. For families across the Kingdom, the figures underline the value of building regular movement into daily routines at every stage of life.
