Saudi Arabia has released its 2027 pre-budget statement, offering an early view of the Kingdom's public finances for that year. The statement projects total spending of SAR 1.392 trillion and revenue of SAR 1.202 trillion, leaving an expected fiscal deficit of about SAR 190 billion, equal to roughly 3.6% of gross domestic product.
The figures sit alongside the approved 2026 budget, which forecasts spending of SAR 1.313 trillion and revenue of SAR 1.147 trillion, with a deficit of around SAR 165 billion, or about 3.3% of GDP. The comparison shows a steady rise in both planned spending and expected income across the two years.
Pre-budget statements are published ahead of the final annual budget to give an early signal of the government's spending and revenue plans. They help businesses, investors, and households understand the broad direction of public finances before detailed figures are confirmed later.
For residents and the wider business community, continued government spending points to ongoing investment in services and development projects that support daily life and economic activity. The projected deficits remain within moderate levels relative to the size of the economy, reflecting a managed approach to public finances as the Kingdom continues its long-term development plans.
