Saudi Arabia Resumes Yanbu Crude Oil Loadings

Saudi Arabia has resumed crude-oil tanker loadings at Yanbu and the nearby Al Muajjiz terminal after restarting the East–West Pipeline, marking a return to normal operations on the Kingdom's western coast. Pipeline operations restarted on 22 September 2026.

During the week ending 29 September 2026, crude loadings at Yanbu were estimated at approximately 2 million barrels Satellite imagery dated 27 September 2026 indicated that nearly 10 million barrels were being loaded across Yanbu and Al Muajjiz.

Pipeline throughput was estimated at around 2.65 million barrels with a possible increase to between 3 and 4 million barrels The pipeline's theoretical capacity stands at approximately 7 million barrels and full restoration of operations is expected to take roughly six to eight weeks from the restart date.

Why it matters

The East–West Pipeline moves crude from the Kingdom's eastern fields to the Red Sea coast, allowing exports to reach global markets from the western terminals. Saudi Aramco has provided customers with the October 2026 Yanbu loading schedule, signalling a steady return to routine shipments.

The resumption supports the stability of the Kingdom's energy exports, which remain a key pillar of the national economy and a reliable supply source for international buyers.
