Saudi Arabia lifted the Arabian Gulf Cup after defeating the United Arab Emirates 2–0 in the final of the 27th edition of the tournament, played at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, also known as Alinma Stadium.
The win handed Saudi Arabia its fourth Arabian Gulf Cup title and marked its first triumph in the competition since the 2003–04 tournament — ending a long wait for the trophy.
Playing in front of home supporters in Jeddah, the national team controlled the final and secured the two-goal victory to seal the title on home soil.
Why it matters
The result is a milestone for Saudi football and a moment of celebration for fans across the Kingdom. Returning to the top of a regional championship after more than two decades underlines the growth of the national team and adds to a busy period for sport in the country.
With the final staged in Jeddah, the achievement carried extra significance for the local community, giving residents and expats the chance to witness a historic win in person. The title is expected to energize supporters ahead of the national team's upcoming fixtures and competitions.
