Saudi contractors have been tapped to build the power infrastructure for the Expo 2030 Riyadh site, following an agreement signed in August 2026 between the Saudi energy sector and Expo 2030 Riyadh to secure the electricity supply for the event grounds.
The project scope covers one main supply substation and three primary substations, along with grid connection and the related transmission and distribution works. The named contractors on the package are Al-Babtain, Haif Company, TDP, and Alfanar.
The buildout targets a total power capacity of about 400 MW, giving the site the electrical backbone needed to run pavilions, visitor facilities, and operations during the event. Earlier infrastructure packages for the event-site utilities were awarded to Nesma & Partners and Al Yamama Company.
For residents and businesses in the capital, the announcement signals steady progress on one of Riyadh's landmark projects. Large-scale utility works of this kind typically create construction and engineering activity across the local supply chain and support the wider development plans shaping the city ahead of the exhibition.
The agreement covers project construction only and is not connected to any personal government service. There are no application steps, fees, or public prices for residents linked to this power-infrastructure work.
