Saudi 2026 Outlook: Growth Backed by Oil and Diversification

A new economic outlook points to continued growth for the Saudi economy heading into 2026, supported by oil-export and logistics infrastructure alongside ongoing diversification under Vision 2030. Projections vary depending on the source, but most highlight strong momentum in non-oil activity.

One projection sees real GDP growth averaging 4.6% across 2026–2027, with hydrocarbon growth of 6.7% in 2026 and non-oil activity averaging 3.6% over 2025–2027. A separate mid-year government estimate projects a 3.6% real GDP contraction, while expecting non-oil activities to grow by 3.2%.

Analysts link the broader outlook to several factors, including increased oil production as OPEC+ output cuts are gradually phased out, the Kingdom's oil-export and logistics infrastructure, steady domestic demand, and the diversification drive under Vision 2030.

Why it matters for the community

The non-oil sector now accounts for roughly 70% of Saudi GDP, up from about 65% in 2018. For residents and businesses in Riyadh, Jeddah, and beyond, a growing non-oil economy signals continued expansion in sectors such as retail, logistics, and services — areas that shape jobs, investment, and everyday economic activity.

While forecasts differ on the headline numbers, the common thread is a resilient economy balancing energy strength with diversification. For families and entrepreneurs alike, the outlook suggests the pace of change under Vision 2030 is set to continue into 2026 and beyond.
