Saudi Tourism Spending Hits SAR 275 Billion in 2026

Saudi Arabia recorded tourism spending of SAR 275 billion and welcomed more than 116 million domestic and international visitors, which highlighted the sector's growing contribution to the national economy.

The forum pointed to strong momentum across key source markets. Arrivals from Europe rose by 14%, while visitors from East Asia and the Pacific accounted for 15% of total arrivals, reflecting the Kingdom's widening appeal to travellers from different regions.

Targets ahead

The figures form part of a broader push aligned with رؤية السعودية 2030, which sets a target of 150 million tourists by 2030. The 2026 budget statement also aims for total tourism expenditure of SAR 351 billion by 2026, signalling continued investment in attractions, events and hospitality.

For residents and expats, the expansion of the tourism sector means more choices in entertainment, dining and travel across the country, alongside new job opportunities and business openings tied to seasonal events and major destinations. Growing international interest also places the Kingdom firmly on the map as a year-round destination.

The latest numbers underline how tourism has become a central pillar of economic diversification, with both domestic travel and inbound visits playing a key role in sustaining growth in the years ahead.
