SDAIA and ZATCA Sign Deal to Grow AI Talent

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) signed a memorandum of understanding in Riyadh on 31 August 2026, on the sidelines of LEAP 2026 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham. The agreement aims to expand cooperation in developing national talent and human capabilities in data and artificial intelligence.

Under the MoU, the two entities will exchange expertise and knowledge in data and AI fields of mutual interest, and organize training and awareness programs, bootcamps, and specialized workshops for their employees. The agreement also includes allocating training seats for staff from both entities in SDAIA Academy and its related programs to build capacity and strengthen skills.

The cooperation further covers the provision of consultancy services, the sharing of best practices, and logistical support for training programs and events. SDAIA Academy's professional programs, which offer structured tracks and certifications tied to labor-market needs, will be used to train national talent in the two fields.

Why it matters

The agreement supports a data- and AI-driven economy in line with Saudi Vision 2030, and connects with broader national initiatives such as the Year of AI 2026, which focuses on developing national skills in data and artificial intelligence. Those seeking to learn more can reach the initiative through the channel AiYear@sdaia.gov.sa.

The MoU is framed at the level of institutional training and internal staff development. Public information on the agreement does not specify fees or prices for training programs, bootcamps, certification tracks, or consultancy services, and no step-by-step public application process has been published for participation.
