The Second Dioudrama Theater Festival is under way at King Abdulaziz Cultural Center in Al-Baha city, offering audiences a packed program of theatrical and cultural events that continues until 31 August 2026. The festival is held under the patronage of the Governor of Al-Baha Region, Prince Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, with the opening led by Deputy Governor Abdulmunim Al-Shehri.
Organized by the Theater and Performing Arts Commission in cooperation with the Al-Baha Society for Culture and Arts, the festival launched on 26–27 August and runs through the end of the month with evening theatrical shows and daytime workshops. Its program features artistic readings and humanistic critiques of theatrical texts, alongside a specialized workshop on stage space, scenography and playwriting.
Visitors can also enjoy a visual arts exhibition, performing arts shows, an Arabic calligraphy workshop, and the "Kingdom of Cooking" culinary event. Families are catered for through a puppet and children's theater, while the main stage hosts productions including "Black Box" and "What Cannot Be Buried."
Why it matters
The festival places a strong spotlight on local talent from the Al-Baha region, opening wider opportunities for theater practitioners and performing artists to present their work before live audiences. Organizers say the aim is to develop the theater and performing arts sector and to broaden cultural participation across the Kingdom's regions.
Available public information does not specify ticket prices, booking fees or ticket categories for the festival. Residents and visitors in Al-Baha planning to attend are advised to check on-site for daily show times and entry details.
