Sehhaty & Seha Apps Guide: Saudi Health Services

If you live in Saudi Arabia, two apps put most of your day-to-day healthcare needs in your pocket: Sehhaty and Seha. Both are backed by the Ministry of Health and designed for citizens, residents, and dependents alike. With them you can book appointments, review lab and radiology results, request sick-leave certificates, consult a doctor remotely, and manage your family's health records — in Arabic or English, and without needing to visit a clinic in person for most tasks. This Saudi Living guide walks you through what each app does and how to get the most out of them.

What Sehhaty does

Sehhaty is the Ministry of Health's unified digital health platform. It brings together services from multiple Saudi health-sector entities into one place, so you don't have to juggle different systems. Core features include:

  • Booking, cancelling, and rescheduling government health appointments
  • Remote consultations and immediate consultations
  • Viewing prescriptions and searching for medications
  • Requesting sick-leave certificates and medical reports
  • Accessing vaccination records
  • Family services to manage dependents' health
  • Health-wallet access

Sehhaty is available in both Arabic and English, so you can use it in whichever language you're most comfortable with.

How to book an appointment in Sehhaty

Booking a government health appointment through Sehhaty is straightforward and completely free (SAR 0). Here's the process:

  • Sign in through the app
  • Select the Appointments section
  • Choose the health centre or service you need
  • Pick an available date and time
  • Confirm your booking

Reviewing, cancelling, and rescheduling existing appointments is also free. There's no separate step required through any other government portal — everything listed here is handled inside the app itself.

Consultations and the 937 service

Beyond the app, the Ministry of Health runs the 937 service for medical consultations. It operates 24/7, so if you need guidance outside of clinic hours or prefer to speak with someone directly, this line is available around the clock. Within Sehhaty itself you can also use remote and immediate consultation features to speak with a healthcare professional without travelling.

Prescriptions and medication

Government medicines are provided free of charge to eligible Saudi citizens at government facilities. For added convenience, electronic prescriptions can be dispensed through approved commercial pharmacies under the Wasfaty system. This means that once your prescription is issued, you may be able to collect your medication from a participating pharmacy rather than returning to the clinic — a useful option for refills and ongoing treatment.

What Seha offers

Seha is the companion app focused on medical consultations and access to your health information. Through Seha you can:

  • Have virtual consultations with doctors
  • View medical reports, laboratory results, and radiology results
  • Check screening records and vaccination records
  • Access sick-leave certificates
  • Book, reschedule, and cancel appointments
  • Arrange eligible prescription delivery
  • Pay for eligible healthcare services

Together, Sehhaty and Seha cover the vast majority of routine interactions you'll have with the Saudi health system.

Tips for getting started

  • Set up your profile and verify your details so your records display correctly
  • Add your dependents through family services to manage their appointments and records in one place
  • Keep your contact details current so you receive appointment reminders
  • Use the app for sick-leave certificates and medical reports rather than queuing at a facility

For any specific service fee, validity period, or process detail not shown above, always confirm the latest information directly within the app or through the Ministry of Health. Both platforms are regularly updated, so checking the app ensures you have the most current options available to you.
