Sehhaty & Seha Apps: Your Saudi Health Guide

If you live in Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Health's Sehhaty app is the single most useful tool for managing your health. It lets citizens, residents, and their dependents book appointments, view lab results and prescriptions, access electronic sick leaves, and even consult a doctor without leaving home. The older Seha app has been merged into Sehhaty, so today you simply use Sehhaty (or call 937) for routine services. This guide walks you through setting it up and getting the most out of it.

What Sehhaty is and who can use it

Sehhaty is Saudi Arabia's unified health application, free to download and free to use. It is designed for everyone with a valid national ID or Iqama, including dependents added to your account. Many Ministry of Health primary-care services booked through the app are free for eligible citizens and residents, while private-facility consultations and insurance-related charges can vary depending on your provider.

Seha's features — especially its virtual consultations — have been consolidated inside Sehhaty, so you no longer need a separate primary app. For the latest access, always rely on Sehhaty itself or the 937 health line.

Signing in and verifying your identity

Getting started is straightforward. After installing the app:

  • Enter your national ID or Iqama number.
  • Add a registered Saudi mobile number.
  • Confirm the SMS verification code sent to your phone.
  • Complete Nafath authentication when prompted.

Nafath verification is often required during registration and whenever you access sensitive health data, as it confirms your identity securely. Make sure your mobile number is current, because the SMS code and Nafath notifications go directly to it.

Booking, rescheduling, and cancelling appointments

The Appointments section is where most people spend their time. From there you can:

  • Book a slot at a Ministry of Health health centre.
  • Schedule referral-hospital appointments linked to your record.
  • Reschedule an existing appointment to a more convenient time.
  • Cancel a booking you no longer need, freeing the slot for others.

Booking through the app saves you waiting at the clinic and keeps everything tied to your medical record. If you can't attend, cancelling early is good practice and helps keep the system running smoothly.

Viewing your medical records and documents

Sehhaty centralises your personal health information in one place. Within the app you can review:

  • Active and past prescriptions.
  • Laboratory and test results.
  • Vaccination records for you and your dependents.
  • Medical records and referrals.
  • Electronic sick leaves issued after a consultation.

Because these documents are electronic, they are easy to share with employers, schools, or other facilities when needed. Note that the validity of each item depends on the specific service or document — Sehhaty does not apply one universal expiry period, so check the details shown for each record.

Telemedicine and Seha Virtual Hospital

One of the most valuable features is remote care. Through Sehhaty and the Seha Virtual Hospital, you can request an instant consultation without travelling to a clinic. The same service is also reachable by calling 937.

Virtual consultations may be conducted by text, audio, or video, depending on the service and your preference. Consultation availability and the specialties covered can vary at different times, so options may differ from one day to the next. After a consultation, a doctor can issue an electronic prescription directly to your account where appropriate.

Costs and what to expect

There is no universal fee, payment requirement, or fixed validity period for ordinary Sehhaty registration, appointments, or virtual consultations. Ministry of Health primary-care appointments are generally free for eligible users. If you choose a private facility or your care falls under insurance, charges may apply and depend on that provider's terms.

Practical tips for smooth use

  • Keep your Saudi mobile number active and up to date for SMS and Nafath.
  • Add your dependents so you can manage their appointments and records too.
  • Use 937 as a backup if you need help or prefer phone access.
  • Check each document's own validity before relying on it for official purposes.
  • When in doubt about current features, confirm directly inside the app, as Ministry of Health services continue to be consolidated within Sehhaty.

With a few minutes to set up Sehhaty, you gain quick access to appointments, records, and remote consultations — making everyday healthcare in the Kingdom far more convenient.
