Entrepreneurs and investors in Saudi Arabia can now complete company formation entirely online through the Saudi Business Center platform, with commercial registrations issued immediately after payment. The digital process covers all main legal forms and includes a mandatory step to declare the company's beneficial owner.
Fees vary by legal structure. A limited liability company (LLC) costs SAR 1,200 for commercial registration and SAR 500 for publication, totaling SAR 1,700 before VAT and SAR 1,955 with 15% VAT included. A simple company or a general or limited partnership comes to SAR 1,725 including VAT, based on a SAR 1,000 registration fee plus SAR 500 publication. A joint-stock or simplified joint-stock company totals SAR 2,415 with VAT.
How the process works
Applicants sign in to the Business Platform using the national digital identity authentication, then select the company-formation service and legal form. The next steps include reserving or choosing the company name; entering details for partners, managers, capital, activities, address, and the Articles of Association; and providing the required identity, authorization, and license information.
Before signing, applicants must declare and record the beneficial owner. After reviewing and electronically signing the incorporation documents, the payment invoice is issued and can be settled via SADAD or card. The electronic Articles of Association and commercial registration are then received directly.
Beneficial-owner information can later be updated for free through the Ministry of Commerce's "Updating Beneficiary's Data for Commercial Registration" service, with immediate processing. The validity period of the commercial registration is not stated in the current service information, so applicants should verify the period shown on their issued electronic registration. Support is available through the Ministry of Commerce on 1900.
