Six New Driving Schools Planned Across Saudi Regions

The General Directorate of Traffic has announced plans to establish six new driving schools across the Kingdom, with one school planned for each of the following regions: Asir, Jazan, the Dammam Metropolitan Area, Hail, Makkah, and Al-Jouf.

The announcement relates to the establishment of these schools only. No opening dates, exact locations within each region, registration dates, course schedules, or applicant fees were confirmed as part of this step.

Companies and institutions interested in the projects have been invited to obtain the project specifications and submit their offers. Submissions can be sent to the Traffic Licenses Department through the email address drivingschool@emroor.gov.sa.

What about fees?

No new 2026 fee schedule was published for these six planned schools. Existing official listings show a private driving-license course for regular applicants at SAR 435, and a public-license course at SAR 435 for qualifying company or establishment employees, or for those who have held a private license for at least two years. The public-license course for other applicants is listed at SAR 560, while part-time private-license applicants are listed at SAR 100. These figures do not set the final prices for the six planned schools.

Once operational, the additional schools would expand access to certified driver training in several regions, which matters to residents and expats who need a licensed route to obtain a Saudi driving license closer to home. No confirmed registration steps, Absher booking route, opening date, or school-specific application channel has been announced yet.
