Taif Racing Week 7: 22 Races, SAR 1.7M Prizes

King Khalid Racecourse in Taif is staging the seventh week of the 2026 Taif Racing Season, spread across two evening meetings — the 13th and 14th race nights — featuring 22 races with total prize money exceeding SAR 1.7 million. Each evening carries 11 races.

The Friday card includes three notable preparatory races, each carrying SAR 120,000 in prizes: a 1,400 m preparatory race for the King Khalid Racecourse Fillies and Mares Championship, a 1,600 m open-class preparatory race, and a 1,600 m preparatory race for the Jockey Club Two-Year-Olds Challenge.

Saturday's card builds toward its main event, the Taif Sprint Cup for two-year-old horses, run over 1,200 m with a prize of SAR 350,000.

About the season

The 2026 Taif Racing Season runs at King Khalid Racecourse — also known as King Khalid Equestrian Square — in Taif Governorate, Makkah Region, from 24 July to 26 September 2026. Racing takes place every Friday and Saturday, spanning 10 weekends and 20 race nights.

The season's calendar also features several major purses, including the King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Cup and the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Cup for Purebred Arabians, each worth SAR 1,000,000, and the National Day Cup for Thoroughbreds worth SAR 450,000.

Cash prizes for Jockey Club–run competitions are transferred to participants' digital wallets via STC Pay, streamlining payments for owners and jockeys. For racing fans in Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond, the Taif meetings offer a full weekend of competitive action through the summer months.
