Al Ahli Win 1-0 at Diriyah in Pušić's Debut

Al Ahli launched their 2026–27 Roshn Saudi Pro League campaign with a 1–0 away win over Diriyah Club on Thursday, 13 August 2026, at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh. The result marked a winning start for new head coach Marino Pušić in his first competitive match in charge of the club.

The only goal of the match came in the 25th minute, when Eduard Spertsyan found the net to hand Al Ahli all three points. Diriyah Club were unable to find an equaliser as the visitors held on for a clean-sheet victory.

The fixture was Al Ahli's opening match of the new season in the Saudi Pro League, the top tier of professional football in the Kingdom. For Pušić, appointed ahead of the 2026–27 campaign, the win offers an encouraging first step as he begins his tenure with the squad.

The Riyadh-based Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium continues to host Saudi Pro League fixtures involving Diriyah Club this season. The venue provides a home stage for the newly promoted side as the competition gets underway.

With the league season now in motion, matches across the Kingdom are expected to draw strong interest from football fans in Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond, as clubs settle into their opening rounds and coaches begin shaping their squads for the months ahead.
