Al Hilal Beat Al Faisaly 4-2 in League Opener

Al Hilal opened their 2026–27 Roshn Saudi League campaign with a 4–2 home victory over newly promoted Al Faisaly at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on Friday, 14 August 2026, in the first round of the season.

Midfielder Rúben Neves was the standout performer, scoring twice from the penalty spot in the 28th minute and around the 82nd minute to complete his brace and earn some of the highest performance ratings on the pitch. Karim Benzema also converted from the penalty spot, while Malcom added the fourth goal.

Al Faisaly, competing in the top flight this season after promotion, replied through Alexandre Mendy and Theo Bongonda, keeping the scoreline competitive before Al Hilal secured the three points.

The match kicked off at 21:00 local time and marked Matchweek 1 of the Roshn Saudi League, the top tier of professional football in Saudi Arabia. The result gives Al Hilal an early boost as they begin the defence of their standing among the league's leading clubs.

For fans across Riyadh and beyond, the season opener signals the return of one of the region's most-followed competitions. Tickets for matches at Kingdom Arena are sold through official club and league online platforms and approved ticketing operators, with fixtures, results, and standings published via the league's official channels.
