Al Ittihad Beat Al Qadsiah 1-0 in Pro League

Al Ittihad opened their 2026 Saudi Pro League campaign with a 1-0 away victory over Al Qadsiah on 21 August 2026, edging past their hosts in a tightly contested early-season fixture.

The decisive moment came right before the interval, when George Ilenikhena struck the only goal of the match in first-half stoppage time. The strike proved enough to hand the visitors all three points.

Al Qadsiah's task grew more difficult in the second half after Dion Lopy was shown a red card, leaving the home side to play the remainder of the match a man short. Despite the numerical disadvantage, the scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle.

The win marks an encouraging start to the season for Al Ittihad, who claimed a valuable away result in one of the campaign's opening rounds. Early points can set the tone for a long league season, and securing three on the road is often seen as a strong statement of intent.

For football fans across the Kingdom, the Saudi Pro League continues to be a major draw, with matches offering high-profile talent and competitive fixtures throughout the season. Supporters in Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond can look forward to a packed schedule as the 2026 campaign unfolds.
