Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Maghlooth was appointed Deputy Minister of Media in Saudi Arabia on 12 February 2026, taking on the role at the Excellent Grade.
The appointment marks a step up for Al-Maghlooth, who had served as Assistant Minister of Media at the Excellent Grade since 12 December 2023. In that capacity he was part of the ministry's senior leadership team.
Al-Maghlooth brings extensive experience in government communication. He previously served as the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Media and played a founding role in establishing the Center for Government Communication, a body focused on strengthening how state institutions engage with the public.
Why it matters
For residents and expats across Riyadh, Jeddah and the wider Kingdom, leadership at the Ministry of Media shapes the flow of official information, public messaging and the tone of government communication. Continuity in experienced hands at the ministry supports clear and reliable communication with the community.
The move reflects the ongoing development of Saudi Arabia's media and communication institutions as part of wider national modernization efforts.
