Al-Mazid Named Deputy Minister of Tourism

Abdulmohsen bin Mohammed bin Hamoud Al-Mazid has been appointed Deputy Minister of Tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under Royal Order No. O/277 issued by the King. The order names him Deputy Minister of Tourism with the excellent rank.

The royal order was issued on 24 Sha'ban 1447 AH, corresponding to 12 February 2026, and was published in the Official Gazette in issue 5144 dated 13 February 2026. With this appointment, Al-Mazid replaces Princess Haifa bint Mohammed Al Saud in the Vice Minister role, while Ahmed Al-Khateeb continues as Minister of Tourism.

Before his new role, Al-Mazid served at the Ministry of Tourism as Deputy Minister for Licensing and Classification. In that capacity, he oversaw the licensing and classification of tourism facilities and worked to ensure compliance with tourism regulations and quality standards, including field inspections of hospitality facilities in Makkah ahead of Hajj.

The appointment is part of a wider Saudi government reshuffle in 2026 that has involved a number of senior appointments across several ministries.

Tourism is a central pillar of the Kingdom's economic diversification efforts, and leadership at the Ministry of Tourism directly affects the standards and services experienced by residents and visitors.
