AlUla Dates Season Opens with Auction and Market

The seventh AlUla Dates Season has opened in AlUla governorate as part of the Khayrat AlUla Agricultural Season 2026–2027, spotlighting the region's local dates and agricultural products while boosting tourism. The season is organized and overseen by the Royal Commission for AlUla.

The season opened with a commercial dates auction at Al Fursan Village, running on weekends until 15 November 2026 with daytime and possible early-evening sessions. The auction connects local farmers directly with buyers, traders, and investors through live bidding and direct sales of dates and related products.

Consumer activities take place at Al Manshiyah Farmers' Market from 18 to 27 September 2026, offering stalls, tastings, and direct sales for visitors and families. There are no fixed ticket prices or entry fees announced; pricing is market-driven through bidding and direct sales

Why it matters

The event puts a spotlight on AlUla's palm groves and their prized varieties, including Barni, Majdool, Halwa Hamra, Anbara, and Sifri. AlUla is home to more than 4.2 million palm trees across 16,484 hectares, producing around 130,000 tons of dates annually.

The season also carries clear economic weight for growers. Last year's commercial auction in 2025 recorded a traded value of 13.19 million SAR for more than 2,250 tons of dates, underscoring its role in strengthening returns for local farmers and connecting them with wider markets.
