Community sports programs across northern Saudi cities are expanding local leagues and training sessions to boost physical activity among youth and families. Cities including Hail and Tabuk now host multi-sport community centers and regular events open to residents of all ages.
The Neighborhood Clubs program operates community centers in northern cities that offer football, basketball, fitness, and recreational activities throughout the week. By 2024, the program reported more than 45,460 memberships across 45 clubs, with coverage that includes Hail and Tabuk and plans to expand into additional cities.
Fees for the 2025–2026 season are designed to be affordable. A daily entry ticket costs 10 SAR for all ages. Monthly subscriptions are 40 SAR for children aged 6–15, 60 SAR for those over 15, 120 SAR for a small family (one parent and up to two children), and 200 SAR for a large family (one parent and more than two children). Registration is available online through the Neighborhood Clubs website or in person, followed by an introductory tour and payment at the facility.
In Tabuk, community fitness events such as the “Move With Us, Tabuk” program take place at Tabuk Central Park, featuring running events, bicycle races, and group fitness sessions for adults and children as free single- or multi-day festivals. Across the Northern Region — including Tabuk, Hail, Al-Jouf, and Northern Borders cities such as Arar — community groups focus on walking, running, and hiking, with sessions and local leagues organized through the Saudi Sports for All digital platforms.
Why it matters
The growing network gives families in northern cities affordable, structured ways to stay active close to home. Additional opportunities include regional judo qualification championships for kids and seniors from Madinah, Hail, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, and Northern Borders, held in Hail with online registration.
