Riyadh Art Unveils 75 Permanent Public Artworks

Riyadh has reached a new milestone in its public art journey, with 75 permanent artworks now installed across the capital as part of the Riyadh Art program run by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. The collection is part of the Kingdom's cultural initiatives under رؤية السعودية 2030 and is free for everyone to enjoy.

The works are spread throughout the city — along streets and main road corridors, in public squares and plazas, at metro and transit stations, on bridges, and in parks, residential neighborhoods, cultural centers, economic districts, and key city gateways. Because they sit in everyday open spaces, there are no tickets or entry fees to see them.

The permanent collection features artists from 47 countries, both Saudi and international, spanning several generations and artistic styles. Highlights include “Run Beyond” by Italian artist Angelo Bonello, mounted on a pedestrian bridge, and “Family Tree” by Indian artist Subodh Gupta. Additional sculptures from the Tuwaiq Sculpture Symposium are displayed at locations such as Roshn Front, the SEDRA community, and stretches of the Sports Boulevard.

These 75 works are only the beginning. Riyadh Art, launched in 2019, aims to place at least 1,000 public art installations across the city through programs including Noor Riyadh, Tuwaiq Sculpture, Art on the Move, Art in Transit, and Riyadh Icon. Around 115 more permanent artworks are planned beyond the current collection, with expansion continuing through 2026 and after.

For residents and visitors in the capital, it means art is woven into daily life — encountered on a walk through the park, a commute on قطار الرياض, or a stroll across a bridge — with no bookings, apps, or fees required. It positions the initiative among the largest public art programs in the world by scale and geographic reach.
