Community Sports Programs Grow in Northern Borders

Community sports programs are expanding across the Northern Borders region, offering residents organized walking, running, and hiking activities as part of a wider national push toward healthier, more active lifestyles. Access to these programs runs through the Saudi Sports for All Federation's community sports groups page and the national sports portal's community programs section.

The region has already hosted community fitness activities on the ground. In 2025, an outdoor program took place at Arar's Palm Park, highlighting how public spaces are being used to bring neighbors together for regular exercise and social connection.

How to Join

For neighborhood-club style facilities, registration is straightforward: sign up through the club's website or visit the nearest neighborhood club, take an introductory tour of the facility, then pay the registration fee on site. Available fee information for these clubs lists 10 SAR for a daily pass, 40 SAR monthly for children aged 6–15, 60 SAR monthly for people over 15, 120 SAR monthly for a small family, and 200 SAR monthly for a larger family.

These prices reflect neighborhood-club packages generally and are not a Northern Borders-specific rate. No region-specific fee, validity period, or booking package for 2026 was available for the Northern Borders programs.

The momentum is nationwide. A statewide community-sports park initiative is set to run across Saudi cities starting 7 May 2026, with more than 2,200 participants expected to take part. For families and individuals in the Northern Borders, the growing calendar of walking, running, and hiking activities offers an accessible, low-cost way to stay active close to home.
