CyberHero Humanoid Robot Sports League Launches in Riyadh

Riyadh hosted the launch of CyberHero, billed as the world's first global humanoid robot sports league, on 9 September 2026. The debut event, branded CyberHero x Riyadh, was held at MBC Studio 1 in Boulevard City, starting at 9:00 PM with doors opening at 8:30 PM. The launch was an invite-only event, with no public ticketing or published prices for attendees or participants.

Described as the Middle East's first humanoid robot combat and kickboxing event, the show featured EngineAI T800 humanoid robots competing in a purpose-built combat arena. Each T800 stands about 1.73 metres tall, weighs between 75 and 85 kilograms, and has 29 articulated joints, enabling it to walk, run, punch, kick, turn, recover after falls, and perform choreographed moves or dances.

How the competition works

Matches pit two teams of three robots against each other in a best-of-seven structure made up of 1v1 rounds. Each robot begins with 30 HP, deducted A round ends after three minutes or when a robot reaches 0 HP and is knocked out, after which the next robot on the team steps in. HP does not recover between rounds, and the team with more robots remaining at the end wins, with ties settled in sudden death.

The Riyadh event featured ten T800 robots overall in live bouts, with some robots from other brands expected to appear. Running for roughly two hours, it combined robot combat with music, lighting, and immersive entertainment, including a live performance by electronic music producer and DJ Tokyo Machine.

CyberHero's model is built around three team roles: Builders, who design and engineer the robots; Coders, who develop and train the robots' intelligence; and Drivers, who make live tactical decisions in the arena. Positioned as a new spectator sport blending robotics, engineering, and strategy, the launch adds another entertainment first to Riyadh's growing calendar of large-scale events.
