Al-Ittihad have announced the departure of midfielder Fabinho, who leaves the Jeddah club as a free agent after his contract expired. The exit closes a three-season spell with the team.
Fabinho joined Al-Ittihad in 2023 in a deal reported at £40 million — figures also converted to around $51.3 million or €46 million. His contract had been set to run until June 2026, but he completed three seasons before departing at the end of his terms.
Reports surrounding his exit indicated that Al-Ittihad had offered a reduced package worth about €14 million in base salary lower than his earlier terms. The player declined the revised offer, paving the way for his free transfer.
The move is a purely sporting and contractual matter between the club and the player. It does not involve any Saudi government procedure, fee, or public-service channel, and is unrelated to platforms such as أبشر, مقيم, قوى, ناجز, نفاذ or توكلنا.
Fabinho's departure marks another change in the squad make-up of one of the Saudi Pro League's leading clubs, and comes as teams across the competition continue to reshape their rosters ahead of the coming season.
