Saudi Arabia has a new Minister of Investment. By royal decree issued on 12 February 2026, Fahad bin Abduljalil Al-Saif was appointed to lead وزارة الاستثمار, succeeding Khalid Al-Falih, who had held the post since February 2020.
As part of the same reshuffle, Al-Falih was named Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers. As of August 2026, the ministry's official materials list Fahad bin Abduljalil Al-Saif as the serving Minister of Investment.
Before taking on the role, Al-Saif held senior positions at the Public Investment Fund (PIF), including responsibilities in investment strategy and global capital finance. That background places him at the center of the Kingdom's push to attract and grow both domestic and foreign investment.
Why it matters
The Ministry of Investment plays a central role in supporting businesses, licensing investors, and advancing the economic goals of رؤية السعودية 2030. Leadership changes at this level are watched closely by residents, expats, and the wider business community across الرياض, جدة, and beyond.
For residents and expats, it is worth noting that this appointment does not, based on the information available in 2026, change any government services or procedures. There are no announced changes to platforms such as أبشر, مقيم, قوى, ناجز, نفاذ, or توكلنا, and no changes to fees, validity periods, or procedural steps tied to this ministerial appointment. Day-to-day services continue as usual.
