Free Community Sports Events Grow Across Saudi Cities

Community sports events are spreading across Saudi cities, offering free walking, running, and family fitness activities in public spaces. In Tabuk, the “Move With Us, Tabuk” program is currently held at Tabuk Central Park, with running races, bicycle races, group fitness sessions, and family-friendly outdoor games open to all age groups at no cost.

These events are part of nationwide community programs run by the Saudi Sports for All Federation to encourage everyday physical activity. Registration for similar events in multiple cities is done through the federation’s dedicated mobile application, not through other government platforms. “Move With Us” fitness festivals currently operate in several cities, including Alkhobar and AlUla, featuring 5 km run/walk races for participants aged 13 and older, with separate activities for children aged 12 and under.

Walk 30 and the Walk 30 League

Nationwide walking initiatives such as “Walk 30” and the “Walk 30 League” run across major cities including Riyadh, Jeddah, the Eastern Province, Jazan, Najran, Makkah, Madinah, Al-Ahsa, Al-Jouf, Qurayyat, Bisha, Al-Baha, Al-Qunfudhah, Hafar Al-Batin, Tabuk, Hail, Taif, Al-Qassim, and the Northern Borders. These use Sehhaty as the official registration and tracking channel.

In the Walk 30 League, teams of 4–7 people are formed from families and friends. Each member must reach 8,000 steps per day — roughly 30 minutes of walking — recorded through Sehhaty. Teams that meet the target across the five-day competition period enter a random draw for prizes. Participation is free and limited to the announced dates.

The main Walk 30 event in 2025 takes place at the Sports Boulevard Promenade in the Riyadh, with concurrent walking activities in other cities including Tabuk. It is a single-day mass walking event, with free registration through the official event page and Sehhaty. For families and residents, these programs make fitness accessible, social, and free — turning parks and promenades into shared spaces for healthier daily habits.
