Health Ministry: Complete First-Grade School Screenings

The Ministry of Health is calling on parents across Saudi Arabia to complete the school fitness screening required for children entering first grade. The examination is carried out at primary healthcare centers, and parents can book an appointment through the Sehhaty application.

The child must attend the appointment accompanied by a parent or guardian. Families should bring the family record or a valid residency permit, along with the original vaccination certificate.

The screening covers the child's medical history, a clinical examination, height and weight, body-mass index, and checks on eyesight, hearing, speech, and dental health. Required school-age vaccinations are also reviewed and completed when needed.

Why it matters

The results of the screening help determine the appropriate educational track for each child and identify any cases that may need referral or further follow-up. This makes the examination an important early step for families preparing their children for school.

The service applies to all students newly applying for first grade in schools across the Kingdom. It is intended for first-grade registration and is available from the opening of registration through the relevant school year. No fee is stated in the available Ministry of Health information, and no fixed validity period has been set.
