King Salman has issued a royal order promoting and appointing 26 judges to Saudi Arabia's Board of Grievances, in a move aimed at strengthening the judicial workforce and improving the efficiency of the courts. The order was issued on 16 October 2026.
14 judges were appointed or promoted to the rank of Judge/B, while 12 judges were promoted to the rank of Judge/C. The decision forms part of ongoing efforts to support the administrative judiciary with qualified personnel.
The stated purpose of the order is to reinforce the judicial staff, raise the efficiency of court operations, and enhance the quality of rulings delivered to those who turn to the Board of Grievances.
Why it matters
The Board of Grievances is the Kingdom's administrative judiciary, handling disputes involving government bodies alongside certain commercial and administrative cases. Expanding and promoting its judicial roster is expected to help ease caseloads and speed up the resolution of matters that affect residents, businesses, and public entities.
This is a judicial personnel order, so it does not involve any fees, application steps, or public-service channels for individuals. It reflects the continued investment in the Kingdom's justice system and the broader drive to improve the quality and speed of legal services across the country.
