Mahd Academy Football Tryouts in 16 Cities in 2026

Mahd Sports Academy is holding nationwide football tryouts across 16 Saudi cities from September to December 2026, targeting boys born between 2013 and 2017. The tryouts will be staged in Abha, Makkah, Tabuk, Jazan, Hail, Qassim, Hafr Al-Batin, Al-Baha, Madinah, Arar, Yanbu, Najran, Sakaka, Wadi Al-Dawasir, Taif, and Al-Kharj.

Registration is free of charge and available online only through the academy's official tryouts portal at mahd.gov.sa/try-outs. Sign-ups are not processed through government service platforms, and no fees or ticket prices are collected from participants at any stage.

How the process works

The tryouts form part of a national talent identification campaign that feeds into the academy's admissions pathway. After initial registration and nomination, selected candidates are invited to a scheduled performance trial. This begins with a first one-day trial, followed by a second, week-long trial for a deeper evaluation of the most promising talents.

Eligibility is open to Saudi citizens, children of Saudi mothers, and Saudi-born residents, with football currently limited to boys. Each candidate must be medically fit and free from chronic diseases or health conditions that prevent participation in sports. Mahd Sports Academy operates as a national, non-profit sports excellence initiative, publicly funded rather than tuition-based, which is why the tryouts involve no commercial ticketing or entry fees. For families, the campaign offers a direct, no-cost route for young players to be discovered and developed. The academy's main campus is in Riyadh on Al Diwan Street, Al Rafia district, with a training center in Jeddah.
