MOH Launches Free Seasonal Flu Vaccine Campaign

The Ministry of Health has begun offering the 2026 seasonal influenza vaccine as part of its preventive health efforts, urging high-risk groups across the Kingdom to get immunized ahead of the flu season. The vaccine is provided free of charge to both citizens and residents at Ministry of Health hospitals and primary healthcare centers.

The campaign targets a wide range of high-risk groups, including the elderly and everyone older than 50, pregnant women, and children aged six months to five years. It also covers people with chronic heart, lung, kidney, liver, or neurological conditions, those with diabetes, individuals with immunodeficiency (including cancer patients or those on steroid therapy), morbidly obese individuals, children aged six months to 18 years on long-term aspirin therapy, and healthcare workers.

How to Book

Appointments for the seasonal flu vaccine are booked through the Sehhaty (صحتي) application using the dedicated "seasonal influenza vaccine" service. Once an appointment is confirmed, the vaccination is given at primary healthcare centers and public hospitals across the country.

A free home vaccination service is also available and can be scheduled through the Sanar application, allowing users to choose the location and timing of the visit. This option is especially useful for children, the elderly, people with chronic illnesses, pregnant women, and healthcare workers.

Health authorities recommend the vaccine once as annual immunization offers the best protection for targeted groups. For pilgrims performing Hajj 1447H, the Ministry advises receiving the vaccine if it was not taken earlier in the season, with appointments booked via Sehhaty under Adult Vaccination Clinic services. Available information for 2026 indicates no fees have been introduced, and the vaccine remains free at public health facilities and through the home-service initiative.
